Filming Day 6
Today we were at Tayla's house filming some more shots. We filmed in front of a mirror and in the corner of the summer house. We felt that these locations would be best as they both showed some sort of reflection of Tayla (her mirror reflection and her shadow). We filmed Tayla lip synching the whole song in both locations so that if we were running short of footage and time we could use these shots as a replacement. We also shot footage of Tayla staring blank at herself in the mirror or directly into the camera to reinforce the theme of inner conflict and inner searching. Here are some stills from the day:
We placed the camera on the tripod in the corner of the room so that we could capture both Tayla and her reflection without including the camera and tripod in the shot.
We also used a tripod in these shots however made it very low so that we could create a slight low angle shot, to enhance the shadows visible. We also used the torches from two phones and shone them at Tayla from different angles, to also create a shadow.

Examples of Magazine adverts for albums

Here are some examples of magazine adverts for albums. On all of the album covers the artists name is clearly displayed, along with a large image of them from waist up emphasising their star image. They all also state a popular song from the artist that is including in the album, in order to gain more sales.
The typical conventions of a magazine advert for music videos include:
music reviews, extra DVD bonus tracks, magazine reviews from genre, record label name and logo, may have slogan/tagline, debut album, limited edition, tour dates.
In my magazine advert I will try and stick to these conventions in order to help the magazine look more professional and fulfil its purpose.

Taylor Swift- Out of the Woods
I think that this video is very similar to ours in relation to both the story-line and the forest setting used. The story-line of the music video is about the protagonist leaving a boy, so that they could find their true self. This is similar to our story-line as they both share the common theme of moving on however our theme of moving on is to do with age and worries whereas this video is to do with moving on from relationships.
In particular I think that the shot starting at 2:00 is very effective as it confuses the viewers into thinking that she dropped when she is still on the cliff. This sense of confusion among the viewers may help them to understand the story-line better. It is also a main theme in our music video so we could use this as inspiration to try and create a confusing shot, to make it easier for our audience to understand our themes.
